Glam Giveaway

The other day, I bought some fun Motives lip glosses to use on Valentine's Day, including one of my favorites, Glam.

(Glam Motives Mineral Lip Shine)

But oops!  I ordered one too many.  "How am I going to use all this lip gloss?" I thought.  And then, it hit me, why don't I give it away?

This Glam Mineral Lip Shine is an extraordinary color!  I love using it when I don't want to add too much color to my lips, but want a little bit of a shine (I like to pair it with 24K Motives for LaLa Mineral Lipstick).

Motives for Motivation

This morning, I tried out my Motives Custom Blend and Foundation Brush for the first time.

(My Custom Blend and Foundation Brush!)

Let me start off by saying the following:

-I don't have much time to put make-up on.  I get up just about 30 minutes before I need to leave for work.
-I have never been one to wear foundation because I don't like the feel of it on my skin.

That being said, I LOVED putting on my make-up this morning.  The foundation was a perfect match to my skin (because it was made for me) and the Foundation Brush felt so good on my skin!

The Custom Blend was not cakey or clumpy and stayed on all day long.  I felt so pretty all day!  I'm partial to it of course, but these products are amazing!  I must recommend them both!

To order, visit motives.marketamerica.com/shopnowsavenow.

Unfortunately, the Custom Blend cannot be ordered online, as it is created in person, specific to you!  But, Motives has plenty of foundations.  My favorite?  Motives Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation (I used this before I got my hands on my Custom Blend).

Since this is my FIRST post about Motives, orders of over $30.00 placed using the link above will receive a FREE Motives gift!  (Must email me to verify placed order).

Get ready to feel pretty in your skin!

Fast Tracking

Today was quite a crazy day.

To begin, my students were a little off the walls today.  This morning, I had the students begin to be accountable for tracking their own responsibility.  I hung clipboards on the wall and at the end of the day, the students decided if they had an "On the Ball" day.  This promotes accountability on the part of the students (pictures to follow).

I worked through lunch today to get some of my graduate school work done.  I have a huge assignment due on Sunday and do not want to fall behind.  Being proactive!

After the school day, the teachers had their usual Monday meeting, however this was our monthly 90 minute meeting.  Just a long meeting after a long day.

Finally, I got home and started working my business for the day.  Today marks the beginning of my 90 Day Fast Track!  I couldn't be more excited to begin on such a journey.  I know it will be difficult, but my motivation and confidence is overpowering the initial negatives.

Fast Tracking for the next 90 days...keep up!

Nemo Epiphany

What a snow storm!  I honestly could not believe how much snow we got yesterday into today.  I thought people were making a big deal out of nothing, until the school decided to call for an early dismissal and I had to go outside for bus duty.  It was insane!

Trying to get home from work was the worst.  The roads had barely been plowed and not much salt had been put down.  Driving very slowly did the trick though, even though I still slid a little.

I decided to relax a little after I got home from work (aka take a much needed nap) and watch some Law and Order SVU (a crazy episode by the way).  It was just what I needed.

A few good friends and I went out for a drink, came home pretty early because of the insane blizzard, went to bed, and woke up to my baby, Benji, this morning.

After a hectic day at work, Nemo the snow storm, and almost not getting home because the taxis were not running, I realized this morning how grateful I am to own my own business.  In between the craziness I just described, I was able to make money through my business without actually being at work.

Nothing like a Snow Storm Epiphany.

Our Memory Coats

What a busy, busy day today.  I'm finally just sitting down to relax a little, even though I should still be working...

Other than it being a busy, my day was great.  Why?  Because my students were so well behaved and I actually felt like they really got a great grasp on historical fiction!

Teachers teach historical fiction in multiple different ways with many different topics.  I decided to teach historical fiction using immigration.  Immigration is such a great topic; there are so many books about it and the students really get excited.

My class read The Memory Coat this morning.  The book discusses the hardships families went through during the time of immigration.  Specifically, the book talks about a young boy's coat.  The coat is worn and dirty on the outside  however has a BEAUTIFUL inside that his mother made herself.

My class and I had so much fun with this book because of the activities we did with it.  The students made their own memory coats.  I first provided the students with a memory coat that they decorated   After, we read the story and discussed.  Finally, the students secured the coats to construction paper so that the coat could be flipped up.  The students wrote or drew pictures of what was special to them.

The coats turned out fabulous!  Such a simple activity that the students loved.  I ended up hanging them up outside our classroom for the school to explore.

Overall, a "memorable" day with my fourth grade!

Can You Get Me Their Autographs?!

I just got back from a huge business trip in Miami, Florida.  For anyone reading who was not there, I cannot even express how amazing this trip was.  The business I am involved in has so many wonderful people that it barely felt like I was working.

Among so many other wonderful people I had the opportunity of meeting while in Miami, I spotted Loren Ridinger and LaLa Anthony.  Both involved in the business, I snagged a picture with the sweet celebrities and was able to exchange a few words.

The lovely ladies were so kind and proved to be an inspiring duo to meet.

After having surgery just months ago, Loren was extremely upbeat and showed her love to her business family.  After being asked how she was feeling, Loren extended her thanks to my business partners and me for our concern and ensured us that she was feeling much better.

After immediately sending this picture to my younger sister, she responded with "Can you get me their autographs?!"  Unfortunately Gillie, I wasn't able to, but there will be plenty more opportunities!

New Beginnings

Starting new things can be exciting, scary, nerve-racking, fun, anxiety-filled, and about one million other things.  Well, count me in for feeling just about every emotion you can think of.  This past September, I began my career as a teacher, I entered into graduate school, and I became a business owner.

WHAT WAS I THINKING?  Honestly, I ask myself this everyday.  However, I have great colleagues, peers, and business partners to help me through.  Yes, I lead a busy life, but I love every second of it.

Follow me on my journey to change my life for the better.
